Biography
Justin S. Baumgartner joins as an associate with the firm’s Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation groups where he focuses on corporate reorganization and bankruptcy law, including the representation of Chapter 11 debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 7 trustees, and various parties in bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
Justin received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School. While attending law school, Justin interned for the Honorable Christine M. Gravelle, U.S.B.J. and the Honorable Andrew B. Altenburg, Jr., U.S.B.J. in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
After graduating from law school, Justin clerked for the Honorable Diane Davis, U.S.B.J. in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York and the Honorable Brian F. Kenney, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia. In these positions, he was responsible for researching and drafting opinions and oral decisions on topics such as discharge injunction violations, real property tax foreclosures, and asset purchase agreements.
Justin has been engaged in private practice since the conclusion of his judicial clerkships in 2019. Since that time, he has served as counsel to clients on matters involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in fraudulent conveyance, preference, and other commercial law proceedings.
