RLT attorneys, Larry K, Lesnik and Barry J. Roy, who have both devoted considerable time to pro bono efforts over the past several years, have recently been honored for their efforts on behalf of individuals in need of bankruptcy assistance but unable to pay for such services. Barry has been recognized for the second consecutive year for his dedicated service to the Honorable Morris Stern Bankruptcy Assistance Project, while Larry, in addition to being so recognized, has been nominated by Volunteer Lawyers for Justice (VLJ) for the New Jersey State Bar Association Pro Bono Award for firms with between 6 and 25 attorneys, in light of the quantity and quality of the services he has provided to VLJ’s bankruptcy program for the past 5 years or more. During this period of time, Larry has not only accepted numerous pro bono chapter 7 referrals for VLJ clients but has lectured at their bankruptcy clinics, consulted with their bankruptcy clients and mentored other volunteer attorneys with less practical experience for the benefit of scores of low-income individuals.
